Duration of PUCL Delhi internship and timings

May 23rd, 2016 – June 17th, 2016

First impression, first day formalities, infrastructure

Shardul Towers’ is the name of the huge building. I was so excited! First Day I was asked to sit in the conference room with other interns. I had to report sharp at 9.00, but there were other interns who came in around 10.30.

After waiting for almost 2 hours, the HR (Rushali Mam) started with the “Induction Program”. So basically, this program is all about how SAM, working hours, dress code etc.

During this program, she also told us about the arrival mail and leaving mail. So, when you reach the office, you have to make an entry at the gate, then write an arrival mail to your concerned partner and associates marking your presence and write a leaving mail at the end of the day to the same set of people.

This helps them to keep a track of your attendance and punctuality. All the interns were asked to maintain a date wise worksheet with number of hours allotted to each task.

After the Induction Session we were asked to fill a form which had different columns:
Name, College, CGPA, Area of Interest etc.

Finally, after all the formalities I was allotted my workstation with a separate ID and Password through which I had to submit my task related work on daily basis to the concerned associate or partner.

My workstation was in Library itself so it was easy to manage things. LIBRARY IS HUGE, RICH AND AMAZING!

Main tasks

There was a lot of things which was expected out of us:

1. Kamar-Todh research work.

2. Preparing Write-ups

3. Reading case files

4. Briefing Partner

5. Getting the files arranged

6. Getting the photocopy done

ETC. (aur bhi tha, but I don’t remember :P)

Work environment and people

Work environment is very professional. You cannot be too comfortable with associates and partners, at times they can be rude.

However, co-interns will keep you going.

Stipend

No stipend

Biggest Lessons

Get your efforts acknowledged, be punctual, maintain a positive image and work super duper hard (shayad P.P.O hi mil jaaaye).

Accommodation

I am a Delhite and I stay with my parents, so accommodation was not an issue for me. The firm is located in Okhla Phase-3 and for this very reason I won’t advice you to take a PG accommodation there. (its not safe). You can look for PGs in Greater Kailash-1, Greater Kailash-2 or Nehru Place.

Don’t worry, they’re plenty of them in these areas.

Office Timings

10.00 A.M.- 6.00 P.M. You can come by 10.30. Generally you can leave by 6 but if there is urgent work that has to be done, you may have to stay back till 8.

They also have cab facility till the metro station, so you can take that if you’re very late.

Over All Rating

6/10
