About the college:

The Faculty of Law, Osmania University has a glorious history of more than 100 years. The “Law class” was opened in the year 1899 to give instruction in law to students desirous of joining legal profession along with “Judicial Test” classes for Judicial Officers. Justice P. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the then Dean, Faculty of Law took active interest in establishing the institution.

The University College of Law was inaugurated in 1960 by the then Chief Justice of India Sri B.P.Sinha. At present the college offers three year LL.B course, five year LL.B course, LLM in six branches, and Diploma in Taxation and Insurance Laws and Cyber Laws.

The Faculty of Law introduced the Ph.D. Programme and first batch of Ph.D. students was registered in the year 1978. The Ph.D. Programme is offered on regular and part-time basis. As of August 2017, there are 92 Ph.D. scholars registered on rolls; and a total of 100 scholars have been awarded Ph.D. degree in law by the university so far.

The objective of Justitia

  • To enhance the knowledge base of the students.
  • To enhance the research skills of students.
  • To ensure capacity and skill development.
  • To improve the professional skills for the students.
  • To Discharge the University social responsibility.
  • To provide a platform to the law students to exhibit their talent.
  • To expose the students to not only infotainment and learning through entertainment.

The ultimate aim of this Law fest is to institutionalize it as regular event to be organised every year. The programme has been designed to coincide with the birthday celebrations of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar the chief architect of the Constitution and the First Law Minister of Independent India.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Only Law Colleges/Universities recognized by the bar council of India are eligible to participate
  • Only bonafide students pursuing LL.B Three year/five year Degree programmes in aforementioned institutions during the current academic year are eligible to participate.

Registration:

  • Dates of the Competitions: April 12th to April 14th 2018
  • Registration Fee:
    • Out station students: ₹ 1500
    • Local students: ₹ 1000
  • The Participants are required to duly fill the registration form (endorsed by the Institution) along with the Demand Draft drawn in the favour of “THE PRINCIPAL, UNIVERSITY COLLEGE OF LAW, OU” payable at Hyderabad which has to reach the organizers by 5th of April 2018.
  • The payment may be made thorough NEFT to the credit of SBI BANK, CURRENT AC NO: 52198263081, IFSC Code: SBIN0020071.
  • The teams/participants are required to confirm their arrival and verify their registration over phone or through email.
  • The Teams/participants are required to email the soft copy of the Demand Draft along with the duly filled registration form as per dates given for each event and the original draft shall reach the organizer by 5th April, 2018.
  • No TA and DA will be paid by the organizers. The participants are advised to make their own travelling arrangements.
  • Paid accommodation will be provided on first come first serve basis.
