NUJS International MUN, as the name suggests, is a Model UN conference held at the National University of Juridical Sciences, Kolkata. It is organised by the NUJS Model United Nations Society and is currently in its sixth edition.
It is the only Model UN conference to be affiliated with both, the United Nations Information Centre for India and Bhutan and the Asian Law Students Association.
In addition to domestic participants we have also hosted applicants from the United States of America, Germany, Spain, Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan, Sri Lanka and Pakistan.
The theme for this year’s NUJS model united nations conference is – India and the World. Owing to the widespread international participation in our conference, it was the Executive Committee’s belief that this year, there must be concerted efforts in providing solutions to both historical problems as well as recent geopolitical developments.
The committee structure has been designed to ensure that all delegates will exercise diplomacy to ultimately influence their agendas towards efficient solutions – an aspect missing in realpolitik.
As with each passing year, this year too will build on the successes of previous conferences be it in this becoming our largest conference in terms of number of delegates yet or even surprises such as the involvement of stand-up comedy from last year.
The upcoming nujs model united nations conference will further our philosophy towards rewarding each participant. These rewards are not only seen in our unparalleled prize money but also an assurance of every participant leaving the conference with something to gain either in terms of knowledge or experience.
There will be a weekend of intense debate with an epilogue of the famous socials you would not want to miss!
United Nations Security Council (UNSC)
International Court of Justice (ICJ)
