Call for Internship Applications

NASSCOM is inviting applications from 3rd, 4th and 5th year students from the National Law Universities for a single paid internship position.

The intern will be involved in a project involving a review of the regulatory framework for subscription-based payments in India (“Recurring Billing”).

Recurring Billing is a critical issue for software product companies in India. Their inability to offer subscription-based billing to customers in India has been one of the key reasons behind a gradual trend of product companies relocating their businesses outside India.

NASSCOM is currently engaged in a dialogue with key stakeholders including the RBI. In particular, NASSCOM is preparing a white paper that it wishes to provide to stakeholders as the basis for further discussions.

The intern will be expected to support the policy team at NASSCOM in this regard, by conducting necessary research including a comparative study of regulation in other jurisdictions and assisting in the preparation of the white paper.

Internship details

The intern has the option of choosing to work from Bangalore (at the office of the Center for Internet and Society, Domlur) or Chennai (at the office of Humble Paper, IITM Research Park, Chennai).

The duration of the internship is four weeks commencing from January 20, 2014.

The research, survey and preparation of a white paper is being facilitated by Humble Paper, a Chennai-based startup. The intern will report to Vivek Durai, founder, Humble Paper.

On successful completion of the internship, the intern will be paid INR 7,500/- by NASSCOM. Accommodation will have to be independently arranged by the intern.
