The Faculty of Law is one of the oldest faculties in India as it was established way back in 1921. The faculty is perennially producing quality research works in India and this Journal is a miniscule part of that. The Lucknow Law Journal could not be published due to unavoidable reasons after 1970. But those hiccups are now past and Lucknow University is now reviving and resuming the publication of this Journal with this issue.
The Journal is pivotal effort of the faculty to publish quality research articles, case reviews, notes and comments and book reviews of contemporary legal issues, so as to keep the ‘class’ and ‘mass’, apprised about local and international legal development. We have picked certain articles related with Constitutional Law, IPR, Trade Law, Environmental Law, Human Rights so as to make the volume very relevant.
To make the whole process more wholesome we have added book review and certain watershed judgments of Honourable Supreme Court of India.
This current phase is a true reflection of the same wherein so many legal issues are being discussed, debated and deliberated upon like rights of LGTB, secularism, Uniform civil code, rights of riparian, climate change mitigation, genocide, war crimes, use of chemical weapons, surrogacy, gender issues, social justice, affirmative action, sustainable development, carbon taxation, treaty obligation, treaty invalidation, extra-territorial operation of municipal laws, corruption, unemployment, population control, intellectual property etc.
These issues are more crucial and complex in developing nations which needs research at micro and macro level. We at the faculty are hopeful that via this journal these issues shall be discussed and analyzed in detail in days to come
