So it needs to be exclusively mentioned in the application that whether you want to apply for the conventional (offline) internship or the online internship.
Once potential candidates are selected, they conduct an interview where they induct the interns.
Duration of Internship and timings
1st August, 2016 to 5th September, 2016.
First impression, first day formalities, infrastructure
The first day at work was pretty challenging yet interesting. On your first day at work, we were assembled in the conference room where we were introduced to the organisation and the core-team members.
Soon after the briefing, we were given our ID cards and were given our respective tables to work on.
The infrastructure was very good, the office was well organised. The aura in the office was apt for work.
Our main tasks comprised of but were not limited to:
1. Writing articles on general topics of socio-legal domain,
3. Preparing case studies and judgement analysis,
4. Conducting workshops,
6. Promotional activities
7. Developing Project LEO.
Work environment and people
The work environment at the office was the best I’ve ever seen in any office.
The office was calm and soothing. After a certain point of time, it didn’t seem as an office anymore, but was a place where working was fun.
Not only the core-team members but even the Founder and the Co-Founder worked with us, on the same conference table.
The aura maintained decorum yet there were no very stringent protocols. I mean, even an intern is free to talk to the Founder or the Co-founder at any time about anything related to work, and they always responded positively.
The people, right from the cleaning staff to the Pantry staff, everyone was so friendly and after some days, it felt as if they were our very own family members.
But not to forget, at the end of the day, it was an office and the work was done efficiently and effectively.
The best thing during the internship was “Perks”! Yes!
Interns actually got many perks at the office. Not only we were given 4 casual leaves every month.
Unlimited access to soft-drinks, beverages and coffee was given. 😀
The only thing which I felt bad was the proximity of the office from my home.
The office is situated in Uttam Nagar, which was a bit long distance for me.
LEAF had planed to undertake a workshop in one of the government schools (KV Pragati Vihar) on Right to education for school students where I was asked to accompany the core-team members.
They asked me to go through the relevant topics so that I can interact with the students.
But, alas, I didn’t. And I reached the school the next day completely blank about the topic.
I had expected that I won’t be able to even utter a word during the workshop, since I was not aware about the single thing.
But that was the day when Rohit sir made me understand my true potential. he told me that I only had to use my basic oratory skills and hence I jumped into the arena and surprisingly conquered the show.
The biggest lesson which I learnt that day was that I found the orator within my own self.
Any Other Thing
Rest was all good. 🙂
I belong from Delhi itself, so didn’t avail any PG facility
Office timings were 10 am – 4 pm. Though, certain amount of flexibility was given in genuine circumstances.
