Sponsored by the law firm of Ladas & Parry LLP, the Ladas Competition was established in memory of outstanding practitioner and author, Stephen P. Ladas. The award is presented every year for the best student and professional paper on trademark law or a matter that directly relates to or affects trademarks.
Eligible students must be enrolled as either full- or part-time law or graduate students. For students outside the United States, university enrollment is acceptable. The top two papers will be selected as award recipients.
Authors may be legal practitioners, business professionals and/or academics. No restrictions apply regarding level of experience or years in practice.
Award winners will be announced in April 2015. The student category winners will each receive U.S. $2,500 and a complimentary registration to the 2015 Annual Meeting.
The professional category winner will receive a set of Stephen P. Ladas’s three-volume treatise, Patents, Trademarks, and Related Rights. Winning papers are also published in INTA’s legal journal, The Trademark Reporter.
