How big was the office? Team strength?
The office was not so big. There were 6 advocates, staff strength was 8.
Application procedure. Internship contact details.
I got to know about the firm from my senior and had contacted another advocate of the High Court to get the contact number of the advocates of the firm.
After talking over the phone, I directly went to his chamber in 6,Old Post Office Street, and confirmed my internship.
First impression. First day, formalities etc.
There were no formalities at all.
On the first day itself, I was given a desk for work, introduced to the staff and was assigned work thereafter.
Work environment, people
The work environment was very positive. Inspite of the busy schedule of my senior – Advocate Sayantan Bose, he found enough time to interact with me and give me some advises on how to improve my work and I got to learn new things too.
The staff members were very friendly and was like one big family working together. Work became fun with them. There was another intern present.
As such no deadline was given to me for completing the assigned work. So pressure was not there. The advocates present were ready to explain and re explain things to me as many times as I wanted.
Apart from that, the staff present was super friendly and entertaining. Rabin Da would give you coffee/tea/snacks anytime you wanted.
The best thing was that I got to visit the Calcutta High Court every other day and hear some of the greatest advocates arguing their cases.
What did you do to chill?
The famous Babu Ghat and Millenium Park was nearby where one can spend a great time. IPL season was on and Eden gardens was beside the High court itself.
The New market was also 2kms away where one can spend quality time bargaining and shopping. And every other street had some amazing eating places where you can enjoy local delicacies as well as international.
It was Kolkata, do I need to say anymore?
