Application Process with contact details
I got this internship opportunity through the Training and Placement Cell of my college. But one can apply for the internship by emailing CV and Statement of purpose to Nidhi Ma’am at email@example.com
Duration of internship and timings
My internship was One Month internship from 1st August 2016 to 31st August 2016
First impression, first day formalities, infrastructure
A 5 minute walk from the Green Park Metro Station and I was standing there, X3, Green Park Main, New Delhi. The office is in the lower ground floor of the white coloured building. I reached the office at 9.30 sharp where I reported to Nidhi Ma’am. After a few minute of formal introduction, I was directed towards my seat where I found one of my co intern already working on something.
Also few associates were present there. This room was an medium sized room with 9 computers, few files and a great air conditioner. With a formal introduction with the associates, I took my seat and as soon as i opened my laptop, I received an email from Shashank Sir assigning me some task.
This gave me a reality check “All work No play” 😛 Meanwhile rupesh bhaiya came and jotted down my details. The entire day was a bit hectic because of some due diligence work but Suraj Bhaiya’s coffee kept us all energetic.
My first day at the office ended on a happy note.
Well when I reported at the office on 1st August, 2016 there was some due diligence work going on. So I had to start with it. Having zero knowledge of how due diligence happens, this seemed to be a tough nut to crack. But the associates helped me through it and taught me how to do.
The main task in this internship was researching and drafting.
In this internship I not only assisted in the due diligence but also drafted rejoinder to consumer complain, prepared synopsis of consumer complaint, assisted in trademark registration, researched on various provisions of SARFAESI Act and case laws related to it. Not only this, I also assisted in drafting JV Agreement and a John Doe Order.
Work environment and people
The office is small and consist of 10 associates. But the work quality is amazing. You have to abide by the deadlines. At first you may not find the people friendly but as you spend time with them you will realise they are no different from us. They are good people.
The Work. Here in the office you are not treated as an intern, but you are given as equal importance as an associate. Your work gets recognised here and even appreciated. Here you’re not just assigned the work but also taught how to do it. You will get to learn many things here and if you have interest in
TDSAT and DRT related matter the voila, this internship is tailor made for you.
The people here are amazing and helpful.
You can get coffee/tea whenever you want (Suraj Bhaiya makes amazing coffee)
Also the Wifi here is amazing and HKV is 10 minutes away. 😛
No mobile network. But wifi is amazing.
Timings. There are days when you can leave office at 6 in the evening but if you have been assigned a work and it needs to be completed the day itself then no matter how late it gets, you have to complete it then only you can leave. For working late, you get amazing food to eat. 🙂
Research, Read, Learn, Remember, Apply. This is what I learned from this internship. Also in this internship I realised hard work does get paid off. A lawyer’s life is not bed of roses and if you want to reach the zenith in the legal profession all you need to have is hard work, zeal and experience.
Any Other Thing
Do not forget to carry your laptop.
I live in Delhi itself so no PG accommodation was needed. However if one wants to intern here and he/she is not from delhi, finding a PG will not be a difficult task. The office is at Green Park Main which is at walkable distance from Green Park Metro Station.
One can live in Lajpat Nagar which is a hub for PGs. Lajpat Nagar is 20 minutes away from office and the auto wala will charge rs 70 at max. The PG rates range between Rs 5000-10000.
The office timings is from 9.30 am to 8.00 pm including Saturdays.
However this need not to be followed strictly and one can come to office by 10 am at max. And if you have something important to attend, you can get a chance to leave the office early. But don’t make it a habit. However if there is a very important task then you might be asked to stay.
