Duration of internship and timings
First impression, first day formalities, infrastructure
First Impression – The first impression was that this internship is not going to be a peace of cake. Sir seemed to be a strict man and he turned out to be one. But yes he was soft from inside.
Formalities – There were not so much formalities. As I went there through reference so I was asked a few questions and when I answered them, then Sir asked me to follow him to his car as he was leaving for the court.
Infrastructure – The infrastructure was good. You get access to internet, all kind of law books and everything you want for research.
As the interns are not allowed to argue in the court, I had to do everything else.
My tasks were from organizing the files to maintaining the diary. I had to read the cases which were put up in the court and brief them before Sir. I had to prepare arguments, replies, W.S. etc.
Sometimes I had to type also for eg. applications etc. Sometimes I had to appear before the court and take exemption. Collecting fees from the client was also a task.
Filing new cases and applying for certified copy of the orders were also among my tasks.
So, I can say that except for the arguing before the court, I had to do almost every thing.
Work environment and people
The work environment was good. Everyone was helpful. There were no restrictions regarding official work. The environment was good and learning for any intern.
The best thing is that you get paid for everything you do. 🙂
There is incentive based system. You get paid for even typing a single page.
There is no fixed stipend.
I got Salary+ Conveyence + Expences + Incentives.
Salary is deducted if you are absent and if you go on Sundays, you will be paid for that. Salary was almost Rs. 2000 to Rs. 3000 for interns.
I got many lessons from the Internship.
The first thing is that it is not so easy to earn money. I had to work from 9 in the morning to 8 in the evening and then also I got a very less salary which is even less than the pocket money of law students.
The other thing is that you have to work very hard in life if you want success. The meaning of success can be different for different people but yes you have to work hard for that.
If you seriously want to go further in legal field, the you are going to face a lot-lot of competition.
Any Other Thing
This was another experience or lesson from life which I got during this one month. I faced the hardships of life and happiness of getting appriciation for what you have done.
Relative in INA colony.
9:00 am – 8:00 pm. For girls it’s 7:00 pm
These were the official timings. I had to report between 8:30 am to 8:45 am.
