5 days in a week. Office timings are from 10 – 6. However the team stays late almost daily, so you can learn more by staying late. There are no strict timings followed as your work timings depend on your work efficiency.
First impression, first day, formalities
Mr Roy welcomed me on the first day. A tour of the office was given. There were no formalities as such. However usual things like bonafide, permission letter were to be submitted.
The best thing about Selvam & Selvam is that they take the interns seriously. They give you good amount of work and make you take responsibility for that.
I was given a lot of Administrative work (which was essential in understand TM procedures and various forms) and was asked to do case summaries, research work and write articles and research papers.
I was also given an opportunity to visit TM office where the filing procedures and hearing can be observed.
Work environment, people
The work environment was exceptional. The associates were very interactive and would always clarify your doubts when asked. One good thing about the firm is that you can always voice your opinion and it will be heard.
It was not a very strict environment nor was it relaxed. The associates do have occasional chats with you (from Rajinikanth to fashion). You are also served good coffee twice a day.
Also if you are lucky you will be taken out for dinner with the whole crew at a star hotel.
The best things AND the bad things
The best thing is definitely the work given. Unlike many law firms where the interns have to go asking for work, here we are allotted work which really helps us to learn a lot.
