First day when I went to the office I had to submit Rs 1000 as an enrollment amount which would make a lifetime member of their monthly bulletin.
I was given to fill some details and complete my registration. On the first day, they only gave the introduction of the organisation. office was very compact.
Since this is basically a NGO which deals with Civil Liberties, we were asked to attend protests happening at Jantar Mantar, attend few seminars and conferences and prepare a detailed report on it.
We were given chance to attend district court and the proceeding of some cases. I and my friend attended criminal court, family court and NIA court with its proceedings.
Work environment and people
The place was compact and approx. 20 students were there as intern in PUCL.
We interacted with Mr. ND Pancholi, President of P.U.C.L., Delhi. He was the one who guided us to everyday’s work. We were not forced to go for the work daily.
Mr Pancholi used to mail in our group, when to come and where to come. Since this is basically a NGO which deals with Civil Liberities, we were asked to attend protests happening at Jantar Mantar, attend few seminars and conferences and prepare a detailed report on it. Mr. N.D. Pancholi is an extremely polite and humble person.
No such bad thing happened during our internship.
How actually proceeding were done in criminal court and family court. We did research work on the protest which was going on Jantar Mantar.
It was a good learning experience under the guidance of Mr Pancholi.
We used to travel from our hostel which was in Greater Noida. We used to stay in our hostel itself.
Office hours in PUCL was 10:00 am to 4:00 pm.
