Accommodation: How, Where, How was it?
I used to commute from home, but you can easily find good accommodation in the city, there were many of my co-interns who worked with me but were very comfortable and satisfied with the facilities they were getting from their respective paying guests.
First impression. First day, formalities etc
Casual but strict when it came to meeting deadlines and working during the stipulated office hours. First impression was very warm; the associates introduced to me were very polite and helping.
To prepare a format to enter final orders passed by the commission to different organisations.
To analyse and summarise 80 cases on The Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (2012) and help write down final orders for those cases, Right to Education, Juvenile Justice Act.
Work environment, people
Good work environment, an environment which forces you to work even if you don’t want to. Friendly people, who will help you even if you are a little shy to ask help from them.
People were very interesting to discuss a topic with and they enlightened me a lot about child rights issues. They were experienced enough to teach a new comer or an intern properly.
Constant guidance by supervisors while working. The best thing is you are helped and guided a lot by your supervisors which makes you feel a lot more comfortable and you tend to work more efficiently.
Say at any time we felt that we were stuck in a problem we were helped before asked for, supervisors were very cool and easy going people and were a treat to work with.
Disorganized maintenance of case files.
As a lot of files were there in the office there was no space adequate enough to accommodate those files, the files were a complete mess to deal with, there was a lot of confusion in finding the file which one is suppose to look for.
What did you do to chill? Co-interns, colleagues
Nothing much, I had some of my co interns with whom I had a good time, we used to spend a lot of time in canteen discussing about some relevant topic we were studying or researching on.
We had a pretty good time talking, listening to some good music and relaxing after the work or on some days we had no work.
None but a really good experience.
Anything else you’d like to tell; Biggest lessons
Sometimes you have to admit to mistakes you know you are not responsible for, just because the person making you do so is your boss and you are just an intern at the end of the day.
At times you have to deal with every possible thing you need to cover up to maintain your boss’s reputation.
