Internship @ National Commission for Women : A Good Fit for a First Year! {s}
Name of Organisation, Location, Team Strength
National Commission for Women
Application Process
One must apply to the Commission at least a month in advance. The procedure is pretty simple and the contact information is easily available on their website.
However, there is a need to chase the commission to get the confirmation letter by constant ring ups.
Duration of internship and timings
The duration is on one’s discretion starting from 21 days to 2 months.
The timing is pretty suitable: 10 am to 4 pm giving you all the time to explore the city.
First impression, first day formalities, infrastructure
The infrastructure is not so appealing but the place has a good lot to gel up with. Moreover people from different law colleges land there making it a place to know people.
Main tasks
The main task, as I was in the resource and development wing, was to look through the proposals from different NGO’s and scrutinize the letters sorting the plaintiff and the defendant out.
Work environment and people
They are a friendly, cheerful lot of people.
Best things
No work on weekends.
Stipend
None.
Biggest Lessons
The best internship one can do in the first semester.
