How to apply?
Shoot a mail at firstname.lastname@example.org and someone from Sir’s team will get back to you in a couple of days.
How big was the office? Team strength?
Sir’s office is located in Defence Colony. It is comfortably big and well stocked with anything one may require.
Although there are quite a few associates and juniors in the team, during my internship I got a chance to work with primarily 4 of the team members.
Duration in weeks. No. of days/week. Timings
I interned for 4 weeks, 6 days a week. The timings were flexible. I was asked to come to office or court, whichever the case was, by 10 am.
I could leave as soon as I was finished with my work, which generally happened by 5 in the evening.
Accommodation: how, where, how was it?
I reside in Delhi so accommodation was not an issue for me. As for transportation, the nearest metro station is Lajpat Nagar.
First impression. First day, formalities etc.
My first impression of the place was great.
The office is genuinely impressive and the Ma’am to whom I reported was very friendly while explaining the tasks I would be expected to perform.
The first day was merely a briefing session and no formalities were requires as such.
My main task was to read case files and research on the upcoming matters in the High Court. Ma’am would ask me to prepare a case in a way in which I would argue and ask me questions after I thought I had it researched.
The final result would be that I would find myself once again brainstorming and reading. All in all this was a very good exercise.
Sometimes I would accompany them to the High Court where I would attend Court proceedings. Generally, I was given the relevant case file for reading the day before so I was able to follow the hearing.
Work environment, people
The people were very friendly and accommodating especially when it came to timings.
The constant array of questions with which I presented them was answered encouragingly.
The opportunity to think for my own and actually discuss legal matters with the associates.
Moreover, the bhaiya at office made excellent tea.
Some days could be a drag when you were left alone in office, even after the researching or reading was completed, because the person you were to report to was not yet back from the court.
What did you do to chill? Co-interns, colleagues
I had no co-interns so I would usually chit chat with some of the other newly joined team members. Plus, Defence Colony is very close to Lajpat Nagar so the outdoor kind can go and chill there.
