First impression, first day formalities, infrastructure

The office building gave me the impression of one of those plush corporate houses with every one suited up and running around, some what like a wall street office scenario with everything black white or grey.

There were no formalities to be done as such except that our own databases were created where all our personal information were put in and we were asked to use this to update whatever tasks we received.

We were allotted specific mentors to work under. I luckily got patents department again. Having worked at a law firm in the patents department before, I was secretly wishing to get it here too!

Main tasks

I drafted a couple of applications but majority of my work was research and analysis, since I didn’t have a science background Patents department did not find it suitable enough to give me more exhausting tasks.

The quality and quantity of work was sufficient to keep me occupied throughout the day.

Work environment and people

Luckily my associate/mentor was a very sweet one and always motivated me to do better. He even took time off to explain to me little things and clear whatever doubts I had regarding the work I was assigned.

This was the only interaction I had with K&S associates. The staff also was okay. There was nothing motivating or comforting to give you the ‘at home’ sort of environment.

Best things

Free lunch! Every day we had some or the other cuisine to try, ordered from the best places around the office.

Bad things

Regulating attendance.

Library Timings: The library where the interns worked had to be locked at 5 pm and thus even when I had urgent work to be submitted I was made to leave.
