First impression, first day formalities, infrastructure
The moment I entered the office, I saw two cats fighting with each other. I got confused. Did I enter the right place? The office is maintained in a house. Then I asked a guy if I am at the right place and he assured that I am at the right place.
All the employees were a bit late that day because they had a celebration party last night.
After that I was briefed about the research work I was to do during the internship and I was given some tips to conduct research. I was given a topic to write a blog on.
Main tasks
The main task that the interns have to do is write blogs. The intern is required to write 50 blogs on any legal topic during the internship. If you successfully write these many blogs you win a cash prize of Rs. 3000/-. Yes!
I was told to make a list of 20-30 topics that I would like to write a blog on. The mentor sometimes gives you the topic for blog, the other times you are to choose your own topic.
The mentor gives you current and burning issues to write a blog on. Basically, you have to do lots of research.
The main task that you are to do is b either on any issue your choice or the mentor will give you some topic to research upon and submit your report. This kind of work helps you establish and develop your research and writing skills.
Once you are done with the internship your writing skills get so polished that if you wish to write a research paper or essay it would not be that difficult for you to write.
The most important thing that you do apart from honing your research and writing skills is increase your knowledge on different laws.
I was aiming to write 50 blogs but I could write 26 blogs and 10 research projects. But the good thing is 24 out of 26 blogs have been published on their website.
Work environment and people
People there are pretty cool and nice. They treated all the interns very well and help a lot in your research work.
They guided me whenever I felt I am stuck and cannot proceed any further. They are very friendly and cool as they all are very young.
Best things
The best thing was that almost all my blogs have been published. And I was in Delhi! A place with too many beautiful places to visit! I made very good friends over there.
So, after office we all used to go out and eat at the best places. As my friends were localities, they knew all the good places to eat.
There were only three of us during the month of July as all the interns had returned by then.
So, the mentors were not that busy and they reviewed our articles at a much more faster pace and were published within few day.
Also, Shinay bhaiya’s lunch makes you feel at home!
PS: Saturday was off for the whole month of July only.
Bad things
The only bad thing was the office hours are too much to handle.
Stipend
Rs. 3000/- if you write 50 blogs worth publishing.
Biggest Lessons
The biggest lesson for me is “Little knowledge is very dangerous” because when you write a blog you have to be careful that you do not write something that is not correct as it will be published only.
Have some patience you research will bear some fruit.
Any Other Thing
The area, where the office is pretty bad. The roads will be all clogged even if it is drizzling, leave apart heavy rains.
So, be careful if you are planning to go to office on a rainy day.
