The core team consists of about 5-10 attorneys along with a few paralegals.
Duration of internship
3rd June- 2nd July, 2013.

My application was sent through college. However, one can apply here by sending a mail to firstname.lastname@example.org
Duration in weeks. Days of work per week. Timings.
I interned at IP Gurus, Noida for approximately 4 and a half weeks. (One month to be precise). They only work from 10-6, Monday- Friday.
Saturday and Sunday are non-working. However, you may have to stay back on weekdays for an hour or so, if any urgent task has to be completed.
First impression, first day, formalities
I reached office a little early around 9.30 AM since I was not too sure about the reporting time for an intern. I was made to sit in the conference room of the firm and the support staff was extremely kind and sweet which gave me a sort of psychological boost at that very moment itself.
Around 10 AM, I met Ms. Sujata Chaudhri, the Head of of the NOIDA office, who got me acquainted with the firm and introduced me to each person in the office who further, greeted me warmly and made me feel a part of IP GURUS.
After the introduction was done, I was shown my work station which was pretty spacious and had a personal computer for me to work on! (No hassles of carrying your own laptop to work!)
IP GURUS mainly deals in matters relating to trade marks.
The tasks assigned to me mainly consisted of drafting various documents, reviewing portfolios and conducting research. The major tasks included:
- Drafting applications for registration of trademarks;
- Filing for registration of trademarks online;
- Drafting various forms (such as Form TM-16, TM-50, TM -59, TM-61, etc.) in accordance with Trade Marks Act, 1999;
- Drafting correspondence letters;
- Portfolio reviewing;
- Conducting public searches on various national and international portals;
Work environment, people
The work environment is a dream come true for an intern! Completely informal and relaxed work culture! And the people there, from the partner to the paralegals, are all extremely helpful and warm.
The team at IP GURUS has created a pro-learning environment for an intern which helps in providing a highly enriching experience throughout the internship.
The best things AND the bad things
The BEST thing has to be the Knowledge share session that they have once a month! The Partner present at the Noida office (Ms. Sujata) conducted a session on trade marks and it was attended by all the Associates and myself (the only intern at that time). It was totally informal and a very different way of learning!
Other than that, the work environment is amazing! The seniors are comparatively chilled out and help you in every possible way! Kudos to the work culture at the firm! (They follow the American work culture!)
The timings and non-working Saturdays and Sundays are a plus point, too!
The bad thing would probably be the travel time (took me an hour and a half to reach office).
Rs. 5000/ month
Accommodation etc. What did you to do chill in and around the office and the place of stay?
As I am a resident of Delhi, I used to commute by metro daily. I took the Blue line and got down at Vaishali Metro Station from where I took an auto-rickshaw. The normal fare for the auto-rickshaw is about Rs. 70. You might have to haggle with the rickshaw guys a bit if they over-charge you. Fare by meter DOES NOT exist on Noida! (sadly!)
For people who are looking for PG accommodations, there are plenty available in NOIDA and Indirapuram! However, do not expect a lot from those PGs.
The office pantry has a coffee-vending machine and a microwave! So unlimited tea and coffee for you and you can make also Maggi for yourself!
Plus, the Sector 63 market is about 5 mins. away from the office so you have a lot of places to chill at such as KFC, Dominos, PHD,
Haldiram’s, Bikanervala, etc.
