Duration of Internship and Timings

I interned at the HRLN for a period of One Month ( fron 2nd December) The timings were 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM (with a short break for lunch).

First Impression, First Day Formalities, Infrastructure

The infrastructure at HRLN isn’t so good.

On 1st day there is a brief introduction about HRLN their works in the past and what are their expectation from you.

Main Tasks

Task allotted to my team was that of preparing various reprts and Public Interest Litigations (PIL) on a different social issues.

We need to search for the cases from different sources like local newspaper, internet as well as from the general people.

When we got some cases like I got the case on hunger death in village bansi shankargarh we need to visit that village and try to gether evidence like photos etc and the problem faced by the people of that village. After knowing all the facts we make a report on that case.

Ulitmately a PIL was filed on the basis of these reports which was argued by us in the Allahabad High Court.

Work Environment and People

The work environment at the HRLN was splendid if you have any problem in working with your team you can talk to Mr. Roy or Smriti mam frankly they can help you in all the way they could.

Mr. Roy and his colleagues were very approachable and not at all intimidating.

Best Things

You get the opportunity to file your own PIL and also get a chance to pledge in high court.

Bad Things

There is the fee you need to pay and no stipend or even allowances for daily expenses incurred for work (transport etc.)
