First impression, first day formalities, infrastructure
There were no such first day formalities. I reached the office around 10.00 a.m. where I met Megha Ma’am and had a small interaction with her.
Since I was only in my second year so, I had no knowledge about the IPR laws. Thus, Megha Ma’am gave me the Trademarks Act 1991 (bare act) to read and marked the important sections of that act.
The office has a three storey building and the third floor is fully reserved for interns only. The office has a wonderful infrastructure with plenty of law books to read.
Main tasks
The main tasks at the internship were to read the files of the different IPR laws. We mainly dealt with the drafting work which included the drafting of the notice of opposition, counter statement and affidavits. Also, I had drafted for the various court proceedings too (especially Special Leave Petition for the Supreme Court) and learnt the procedure of filing the applications for the various IPR registrations (both online and offline).
Work environment and people
The office had a wonderful work environment. The associates there (especially Megha Ma’am and Kamal Sir) were very friendly and taught us the very nuances of the IPR laws as a teacher. Whenever we faced any problem in the file we could reach them without any hesitation.
Best things
The best thing at this internship was that the interns were treated as the students and were guided and taught the basics of IPR laws in a very friendly and cooperative manner. The office provided us the opportunities to sharpen our drafting skills and helped us to learn the different concepts of the IPR law.
Bad things
There was no bad experience.

Biggest Lessons
The biggest lesson that I learnt at this internship was that everything is easy when you are crazy about it and nothing is easy when you are lazy about it. You need to work hard and leave all your laziness apart if you really want to learn something.
