First impression, first day formalities, infrastructure
Yaa, it was really a good experience for me working with that NGO. It was my first experience working with these sort of organisations and I learnt many managerial activities as I participated in many of the camps organised by them.
With the help of the members me and my team members got aware about the various problems faced by the slum people their.
The were having many economical, social, political as well as legal issues, which they shared with us and our team helped them in getting the remedies which they all actually deserve.
It gave me a satisfaction as I worked helping the poor people and helped the people seeking Justice.
Basically, we were working in the branch of Navjyoti which was for the welfare of the children.
So, we helped them in promoting the Compulsory Child Education for the children till the Age 14 and restrictions imposed by our government for Child Labour.
We made certain videos and showed the villagers there to make them aware about it. We performed certain NUKAD NATAKS on the streets of Bawana, J.J Colony.
We during our Surveys had a talk with the villagers about the betterment of their children and requested them to send their child at least 3-4 in a day in the free education camps organised by our volunteers.
Work environment and people
The working environment there was not good for girls as the people there use to suggest us.
But in my opinion I didn’t find any inconvenience there, although I had male volunteers with me as my senior was more concerned about the female members working there.
But yaa I must say the children there they use to come to us and were very happy to help us and spend time with us while we were on surveys.
I guess my whole experience being there was just awesome. But the best parts were the time I spent with the children there. I taught them many things like singing, dancing, studying etc.
And I too got many things which I cannot get from my Law books.
Sometimes, people there use to treat us very badly, life we were there for begging and all and they even denied to listen what we what to ask them. So, I guess this was the worst thing I have experienced.
I learnt how to work in a team, helping each other.
The official timing were 9 am to 5 pm. Sometimes it was relaxed but on the same side sometimes it was so strict we used to be involved in so much work that we even use to leave after 10 pm from there.
