I applied on the following E-mail id firstname.lastname@example.org
The concerned HR called and conducted a short telephonic interview approximately a month after the same. She gave me an offer for an internship at the end of the call itself.
Duration of internship and timings
1st May, 2014 – 31st May, 2014
First impression, first day formalities, infrastructure
I was asked to report at 9.00 am on the first day. Afterwards, me and another co-intern were escorted to the HR who made us fill up all of the formalities. We were then introduced to the two associates who were to be in-charge of us.
The internship had varying tasks from making case briefs to editing the weekly SCC Online Magazine.
The weekly update that people get from SCC-Online were mostly written by interns.
There were also some miscellaneous editing of entire books where we had to weed out redundant citations if present.
Work environment and people
The environment was friendly and the associates were approachable and friendly. While not all the employees are lawyers, they keep out of your way and create a sense of family.
The learning experience! This internship is especially recommended for 1st year students who want to learn basics like case briefing, legal research, etc.
Nothing in particular. Maybe the lack of deadlines which led to some slack work by interns at times.
Books! They give a list of them and we can choose a specified number.
This internship gave me a sense of schedule and the first real taste of life as it would be when I’d be working. The whole 9-6 schedule was a bit unnerving initially but you get used to it in time. A good old internship!
