Name and College: Namrata Raj of Symbiosis Law School, Noida.
Year of Study: 3rd year learner
Name of the Recruiter: Advocate Renu Gupta, Independent Practitioner.
Address of the Office: D-327, Basement, Defence Colony, New Delhi – 110024.
Duration of the internship: 4 weeks (Winter Internship). The office is open 6 days in a week. Saturday is the day off and the office remains open on Sundays. The office timings for me were 10:00 am to 7:30 pm.
Application Process: One can apply by sending a mail at renu[at]renugupta[dot]co[dot]in with the resume attached and Ma’am will revert back.
Editor’s note: Please do NOT send your CVS to the above email ID just like that. If you do that, your application will surely be trashed! First, see if you really want to intern here. Then, apply with a tailor-made CV and cover letter.
Office environment: The office is very spacious and has a very welcoming and comfortable work environment.
Tea and coffee are readily available to keep you going through the day.
There is a library where one may find all the reading material required during the term of the internship. You also get access to legal databases for conducting online researches.
Accommodation: I reside in Noida and so I did not need any accommodation.
Main tasks: My main task was research, drafting and making judgement notes. I was asked to make List of dates of cases which were listed the next day.
During this internship, I have drafted a Complaint, Reply and Regular First Appeals.
As Ma’am mainly deals in consumer cases and arbitration, I would accompany her to the National Consumer Dispute Redressal Forum and also for Arbitration. I was given the relevant case file for reading a day before, so I was able to follow the hearing.
Stipend/month: Rs. 7500/-
Personal Experience: There is a lot I got to learn. One can never get bored. I even interned a second time.
The office environment is strict and professional but it is easy to blend in.
The best part is that whenever you think you need a coffee or tea to keep going, all you need to do is ask. It will be served to you, before you know. It was a great learning experience.
