Duration of internship and timings
First impression, first day formalities, infrastructure
The first impression was good, there were no formality as such, sir told me about basic rules and procedures and he took a short interview of me, testing my knowledge on the areas of law and current affairs related to law.
The main task was to assist and help sir in different cases, and research work in some cases, since, I was newer to law field, he told me to make short notes on some landmark judgments with the help of SCC online and Manupatra.
Work environment and people
The work environment was good, the people were nice and friendly.
One day sir told me a story of a butcher and a lawyer, and eventually it became the biggest lesson for me.
The story was:-
“One day a butcher came to a lawyer and asked- Sir, if someone’s dog stole a piece of meat from my shop, if the owner would be liable?
The Lawyer replied- Of course Yes !
Then the butcher said- Very well, then your dog stole a piece of meat from my shop
The lawyer replied- Good, then if you care to drop another piece of meat with my clerk it would be equal to my fees.”
