First impression, first day formalities, infrastructure
First impression was impressive as the infrastructure is modern and least expected of any institution, even in Judiciary. The Legal Counsel is highly cooperative with interns and there are no strict formalities.
The applicant’s file is maintained with their approval letters and sent to the Secretariat. The applicant has to get the approval from Additional Coordinator (Metropolitan Magistrate/Civil Judge) deputed there for the High Court Pass.
The main tasks are Studying some provisions of Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996; Attending Arbitration Proceedings and interactions with Retired Judges and Senior Advocates, Preparing Cost Sheets (International and Domestic) as per Centre’s Rules, Framing Issues and Working on some other matters as instructed by the Legal Counsel.
You may also be required to assist the Secretariat at Third Floor, if instructed by the Addl. Coordinator.
Work environment and people
Work Environment can be no better than this. Its an ideal place with everything available, comfortable chairs, Internet and Computers (with slow internet), coffee/tea/snacks, office space, ACs, and most importantly the congenial atmosphere by presence of cooperative staff and Legal Counsels.
The Legal Counsel will explain everything in detail and make you learn things to their best. The certificate is also provided on the Last Date and you are taken for an informal lunch with the Legal Counsel.
1. Good Infrastructure to observe things as opposed to Litigation.
2. Assistance, Cooperation and Learning through Legal counsels.
3. Centre is a part of High Court of Delhi.
4. Interns can also attend court’s proceedings, with permission and their Internship pass will work throughout High Court Campus.
5. Interaction with Retired Judges and Senior Advocates.
1. Slow internet
2. Centre is mixture of government’s lethargy and private’s energy.
3. Absence of stenographers on few occasions.
Arbitration is luxurious litigation.
