Application Process with contact details

I got the contact details from their website and visited the NGO the next day where I met Mr. Ankit Srivastava who took my interview and he asked me to join from the very next day.

Duration of internship and timings

June 2016

First impression, first day formalities, infrastructure

Initially I was a bit disappointed with the infrastructure as it was a messy place however with time I developed a liking for the same. It wasn’t like other corporate places rather it was like a home where there were under privileged children and women fighting for recognition in society.

Main tasks

I use to teach children and at times some women as well however there was no legal work. But for my own learning throughout the internship process I read International Humanitarian Law.

Work environment and people

I meet some of the best mentor at D foundation who taught me how to be patient in life. I am really grateful Ms. Purnima who was their by my side guiding me all along the journey as a mentor and being their as a friend as well.

Best things

The children I met and my mentors were the best thing. The values I got from the organisation is something I’ll treasure forever.

Bad things

There wasn’t any legal work. I expected some research or drafting work which I didn’t got at all. So it was a bit disappointing but then apart from that there was a lot more things to learn about people and the outside world.

Stipend

No stipend

Biggest Lessons

As mentioned before the best thing I got from D foundation was the skill of being patient with different kind of people and in different situations.

Any Other Thing

I hope that was enough. 😛

Overall Rating

Accommodation

My hometown is in Varanasi and that was the main reason why I choose D Foundation. I stayed at my grandparents home and commuted from there only.

Office Timings

I use to be there from morning 11 till 5 in the evening, Playing with kids and teaching them basic elementary subjects. However there was not strict timings that one had to maintain.
