First impression, first day formalities, infrastructure
The very first day, I had to report to the office at around 10 am in the morning. I met the person I would be primarily working for, Ms. Esha Shekhar who is a very sweet and caring person.
During our first interaction, she had asked me of what I expected to learn from this internship and the kinds of work I wanted to do and accordingly I was assigned work as it came.
The office is located at the basement level of D-182 A, Gate No.4 of Freedom Fighter Enclave. It is a very spacious office with several motivational and unique posters on the walls along with a soft board of well wishes from interns who had interned before.
It is also pertinent to note that, along with the Cliklawyer team, the content team for iPleaders also sits at this office so you will be also expected to work alongside them. It’s a very fun and family like environment at the office. There are separate workspaces for interns to work and everyone during lunch heads down to the iPleaders HQ at D-110, for food.
The thing about Cliklawyer is that, every day is a new adventure. You never know what kind of work is going to come up. Cliklawyer is a legal services aggregator where people with legal problems approach the concern and based on that work is done.
I was mainly asked to prepare drafts on Criminal Complaints, Copyright and Trademark registration along with SAAS and T&C agreements for websites. Aside from that, I prepare research articles from time to time.
Work environment and people
The people at Cliklawyer are simply put “brilliant”. This has been one of my best internship experiences ever. From working together, to eating lunch together, founders, employees, interns and all, at the end of the first couple of days, you start feeling like family.
When it comes to doing work, everyone supports each other. If you have any doubt, you can freely approach people and they are prepared to sit down with you and explain it to you several times if need be.
The work environment at Cliklawyer is one where at the end of the day you feel a sense of satisfaction in yourself over the quantity and quality of work you did.
Speaking of, every single person is as approachable as the next. From people like Ishant who handles Sales and IT to the big boss Ms. Esha, I met and made so many friends there in such a short span of time, people might think of it as a fairytale.
The best things about the firm would probably be two things namely: (a) The diverse portfolio of work that is done. Like, one day, I would be preparing a Cyber Cell complaint and the next day I would be working on a Passport Impounding matter. (b) Definitely the people.
The people are amazing. Aside from work, post office, we’d be playing mini militia, going out for food or even celebrating birthdays of people. The most fun thing I remember is the entire team of Cliklawyer and some people from iPleaders going to the CWG field for a cricket match. It was amazingly fun!
Since the office is in the basement level, it’s a really sticky and wet affair to get to the office on a rainy day and there were MANY such days in August.
Depends on your performance but normally it is given to 4th – 5th year students only.
The biggest thing I learned is to keep an objective view on matters while drafting something for a client. Many times I had mistakenly prepared biased drafts after hearing the needs of the client which had to be edited several times before it got approved by Esha Ma’am.
Me and a couple of friends who had all gone to Delhi during the same point of time, rented out a fully furnished inside Gate No.4 of Freedom Fighter Enclave itself. There are several PGs available nearby also.
10:00 am to 7:00 pm, sometimes 8:00 pm.
