Application Process

I got this internship through the recommendation from my college.

Duration of internship and timings

6th June, 2014 – 6th July, 2014

First impression, first day formalities, infrastructure

The first day of the internship was full of excitement. There were no such formalities. When I went to the office, I met Namita Ma’am and had an introduction with her. As I was in my second year that time, so she asked me about the laws I had read and also asked me about my area of interest.

She then allotted me the work i.e. gave me a file to read (that was a consumer matter) and I was asked to make the notes of that case.

Main tasks

I was asked to find the relevant case laws for the different matters and was given files to make brief of them. I used to make notes for the cases and used to make arguments for the cases. The cases with which I dealt were mainly of consumer and civil suits.

Also I was taught how to read a file and what is the order of a file i.e. how it is arranged.

Work environment and people

The office has a very soothing working environment. The interns are not over burdened by the work and the Ma’am as well as the other associates used to teach us and guide us if we had any problem in the case.

Best things

The best thing was that we could directly reach Namita Ma’am for any problem and she was always ready to help us.

The office was very well regulated and Ma’am used to motivate us and inspire us.

Bad things

Nothing happened to be called as a bad experience.

Biggest Lessons

The biggest lesson which I learnt from this internship was that if you do not know something, do not speak unnecessarily about that. Instead, read about that learn that and then express yourself.

Overall Rating

No accommodation was required as I have my residence in Jaipur only, but for outsiders accommodation is not a problem as there are many PG’s near the location provide accommodation at reasonable rates.

Office Timings

There were summer vacations going on in the High Court, so I used to go to her office whose timings were from 10.00 a.m. to 3.00 p.m.
