Chambers of Advocate Manoj Bose, Trial Court, Kanpur
I had interned under Manoj Bose Sir,
Address: Manoj Bose, Chamber no. 4, Babu Lal Adhivakta Bhavan, Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh
Duration of internship and timings
11th May, 2015 to 9th June, 2015
First impression, first day formalities, infrastructure
this was my first hand experience of a real life kachehri, parking full of “ADVOCATE” vehicles. narrow streets of Adhivakta Bhawan took me to chamber no. 4 where Manoj sir was sitting with his juniors discussing some cases and his schedule of the day.
I wished everybody there and introduced myself. Everybody looked at me with a smile, and the then sir asked, did I find the place easily. his warm welcome brought a sense of comfort and then we headed to court. Indian trial courts, our bollywood has always shown a deceptive version of them.
They are way filled up with people than shown in movies, and they are too filthy. But then it has to be respected, this being the place where justice is delivered.
The main task I did there was to read case files and walk around from one court room to another following manoj sir, listing to his arguments.
Work environment and people
The work environment was a healthy one, Manoj sir was very helping and patient in handling all my doubts. Outside the chambers, in court rooms I was exposed to the real trial rooms and its working methods.
Best thing was inside the court rooms, and listening to the argument of both the side.
Over crowded lifts.
I learned how to read statute and break them to comprehend them.
