Application Process with contact details
We sent our CV’s and were called in to intern on the basis of selections.
We did have an interview later on.
Duration of internship and timings
23rd December, 2015 to 12th January, 2016.
First impression, first day formalities, infrastructure
First day was strictly about introductions. It was nothing major. The office is a luxurious and classy setup in Ramleela Maidan area of Delhi.
It was centrally air-conditioned. The office is located on the 6th floor and the building had perfectly working elevators.
Initially, all we did was read the case files. Later on, we assigned minor research work.
Halfway through our internship, we were working along with the juniors and helping them to the best of our capabilities.
We even prepared notes on a completely fresh case, even the SLP of which had not been drafted.
Work environment and people
Mrs. Khan and her husband a team. Mrs. Khan dealt with matters of Supreme Court and her husband dealt with the matters of the High Court.
The people were very accommodating and patient. Although Ma’am was strict and quick to anger, it was still a very nice and warm environment.
The juniors were specially extremely helping and they did everything short of holding our hands during the internship. All questions were very patiently answered.
The accommodating and a helping nature of the people was a big help.
The office was very easily approachable via metro and was located in a very nice locality.
The infrastructure was very good. The coffee from the canteen below was mind blowing.
The place where we took up residence was extremely far away. But that was our own fault. No negative aspects that I can think of.
If we are respectful and considerate of their rules, the people in the chambers of such established lawyers can also be very helping. Interning in a big city can be difficult if finances are not properly managed.
Any Other Thing
While work alone is important for an intern, it is also very necessary to keep track of one’s finances and living arrangements while interning from a big city.
The three of us rented a flat in Noida Sector 15 and commuted by metro to the office which is located near Ramleela Maidan.
9 AM reporting. The timings were not fixed and we occasionally stayed till 10 in the night. The office timings strict, but reasonable excuses were entertained.
