Amicus is basically a startup which is trying to solve the basic issue of cheating, which is faced by the E-consumers.
They do this through their risk assessment process, which gives the product a rate on a defined scale, through combining millions of consumer reviews.
The application for the internship looks tricky but it is extremely simple and easy. The candidate just has to pass a pre-interview test, in which they basically try to check whether the applicant has understood the concept of the risk assessment, which forms the basis of their work.
After the pre-interview test which the applicant has to mail at email@example.com, if the material submitted is convincing enough, and the applicant has imbibed the concept, the applicant will have an interview over the phone.
If they your internship application is accepted, you will be asked to join their office in New Delhi, Chattarpur.
Duration of internship and timings.
1 month as per the contract. Extension based on performance.
Lunch and evening snacks are provided.
First impression, first day formalities, infrastructure
The infrastructure at Amicus is quite good. There are no paper formalities.
There is certainly a good chance to learn about Consumer Protection Laws and about various technical fields. If you are interested to work there certainly, this might be your stop.
You get variety of work: from tagging the reviews to making info-graphics about the current issues which are being faced by E-consumers. All the fields will be open for the interns which will help them to explore their expertise in the said field.
I have also got a chance to work on the social media management through hootsuite and also I got the chance to work with various tools like SLACK and ASANA.
This internship has not only improved my legal knowledge but also helped me to improve knowledge about technology. It also taught me that technology and law need to be learnt together.
They give you a space to work which is extremely good. And also when they provide you with all the space and freedom the intern must show efficiency in their work
Work environment and people
The work environment is too good. You are always surrounded by Aayush Sir (CEO) and Nishchal Sir (co-founder), who are extremely friendly and supporting.
They will be available at any time. Their mentorship is quite unique. The perspective that you get from here is too good.
The best thing which I observed was the flexibility of time offered and work given. But one must be committed and efficient. And they are not concerned about the clothes you wear but the work you do.
After work every day, we used to play cricket in the office which would take all the work stress out of our mind.
Saturday parties were some of the most amazing things of the internship.
There were very few things which I would call bad . As it is a startup due to which the speed of the work and making the decisions is little more than a normal company which basically makes any startup different from a fully grown company.
How to combine law and technology to get the work done.
You need to broaden your field of knowledge, awareness and efficiency.
I would recommend this internship to all the law students who wish to develop their expertise in different dimensions of technology.
