Name of the Intern
Anjanay Pandey, RMLNLU Lucknow
I Interned in Alliance Law Group for a period of 10 days. The law firm is situated at C 66, Neeti Bagh, New Delhi. Here is their website.
Now, my internship period was initially supposed to be 25 days but was cut short due to a personal situation. First off, the place is amazing. This was my first time working in a Law firm. The office hours are usually from 10:00in the morning to 7 in the evening.
The office space is small and cozy, Interns usually work in cubicles or sit in the conference room. The firm has three partners and around 5-6 associates working. They practice in Corporate law, Civil and Criminal Litigation along with Arbitration and etc.
The atmosphere is quite friendly. If you have the first days nerves, this is the best place to be. The associates as well as the partners are extremely pleasant and will help you. The one thing which sets this firm apart from most other organizations I have worked with is the level of communication.
Communication is key here in ALG. The associates and the partners communicate effectively and in a friendly, often jovial manner. The atmosphere is light-hearted and supportive. The interns are given an important place.
There are two things that set this office apart. One of them being a really cute and harmless Beagle named Whisky who really is one of the best things about this internship. He belongs to one of the partners and is lovely dog. The other thing is the Lunch hour.
Everyone who is present at the office will sit at this huge oval table and thus the lunch time will begin. Fun, frolicsome and relaxing, you are surrounded by food, good people to share it with and a really nice environment.
Chances are that you are quite convinced that this is a good place to work. If you are not, the work they get is pretty good too. The research work they do is diverse and engaging. The research propositions can be from Corporate law, Civil litigation, Property law, Specific relief, Arbitration etc.
They also work on engaging themes in Criminal law. In case you have studied procedural laws an want to get a hands-on experience, this is one of the best places. They even entrust interns with drafting work, guiding them with its nitty-gritties. I helped in drafting of an SLP myself while I was there.
Thus, this is one of the best places to intern in Delhi. The associates told me that work is better in Winter months as the courts are closing when compared to summer months.
This was a really nice experience, both in terms of work and in terms of the people I met.
