I got familiarize with the practical working of the courts. Its so much different than what’s shown in movies and what I thought it would be like.
I got to know about mediation center on the very first day how people get a chance to resolve their issues before getting the divorce actually.
Inspection of files.
Reading case files.
Research on various cases and judgement.
Filing of the application for inspection of files.
Collection of other party’s files from filing center.
Work environment and people
Work environment was very positive and associates working there were very nice and friendly.
They were very good at explaining legal work. They taught how to write application for inspection and how research is done.
Very knowledgeable associates as well as advocate sir also taught us important things about the court working.
First best thing was a female judge Dr. Kamini Lau Additional District judge. Her hearings were really nice and fast.
She was one judge who would come all prepared and finish all her cases within 2 hours.
Second best thing was that I got to explore courts, not only Tees Hazari Courts but also Rohini District Courts, Patiala House and Saket Courts.
Another best thing was that I got to know more people from different colleges and also i got a very good exposure of the professional world.
This is a tough one. There weren’t actually anything bad. But one thing I didn’t like there was the food in the canteen.
Since it was a monsoon season so water used to get filled outside the courts and it would become very difficult to enter the courts.
Also working of courts is too slow it should be little bit faster because there were people there waiting for final judgement for more than 10 years.
Biggest lesson I learnt was that actual court is very different from the one I imagined and also I learnt so much about the professional world and life of lawyers and judges.
I am looking forward to be working again in the courts and learn more about it.
I stayed at my house itself.
9:30 – 4:00. Timings were strict.
