Duration of internship and timings
December 26, 2015 – January 14, 2016 and May 31, 2016 – June 31, 2016.
I interned there twice.
First impression, first day formalities, infrastructure
The office is plush and the library is well stocked.
This internship made me fall in love with litigation.
I liked it so much that I decided to intern there twice.
I was primarily assigned the task of drafting draft legal notices and draft writ petitions. Those drafts will be corrected by any one of AG sir’s juniors.
They would teach you how to draft better and the office is a very conducive place to learn.
They ask us to research on various propositions of law and find case laws. They are very strict in this work since legal research is the most basic thing and hence they except the interns to be good in legal research.
Work environment and people
The office has a good work ethic.
The people are friendly as well.
They allot a lot of work to the interns and they teach you how to do the work.
I had an amazing mentor who literally taught me everything I know.
I did not find anything bad in this internship.
I learnt that hard work is the key to success. They work long hours and it is gratifying to be a part of something that impacts people’s lives.
I understood that when AG sir was fervently arguing on behalf of the employees in the minimum wages case which went on to be heard for three consecutive afternoons.
I was astounded by the level of dedication and the end result was worth it.
I live in Chennai so I didn’t need a PG.
Timings are strict. The office works all days of the week.
On court days: 9:30 AM to 8:30PM.
On all other days: 10:30 AM to 8:30 PM.
Office winds up around 5:30 PM after court on Fridays.
