Name of Organisation, Location, Team Strength
Advocate B.K Rai, High Court of Sikkim
I applied through personal contact of mine.
Duration of internship and timings
Internship was for four weeks. Timings were 10 a.m. in the morning to 5.30 p.m. in the evening.
We interns were usually allowed to come a bit late. Saturdays were non working days.
First impression, first day formalities, infrastructure
I did my internship in the first year of my college. There were so to say, no first day formalities.
The office was in the chamber in the High Court of Sikkim.
The main task was comprised of research work and attending court hearings, also we were given some drafting work.
We also had to accompany Sir to the court when he was arguing and make notes, on which we were followed up in the evening.
Work environment and people
The work environment was strict, with discipline being of importance. The people were though quite friendly.
The internship was a great learning opportunity, I met different kinds of people and learnt a lot from each one of them.
There were no bad things about the internship but sometimes we had little work.
I got involved with all the on-going hearings that were to take place which set me up for making an informed decision of taking up litigation as my choice after graduation.
