I had applied through my college placement cell; however internship applications can be mailed at email@example.com
Duration of Internship:
May, 2017 – August, 2017
10:30 AM to 7:30 PM, since it is a litigation office, timings can never be very particular, hence one needs to be a little bit flexible with the timings.
Main Tasks and Experience:
I interned for quite a longer duration, so I came across a great mix of cases, ranging from general civil cases, consumer disputes to insolvency petitions and arbitration matters.
Since the Insolvency and the Bankruptcy Code is quite a newly enacted law, there were various cases under the same, and a chance to learn a new law from the scratch.
I also assisted in drafting legal opinion’s regarding transfer of shares, winding up and also an employment agreement.
You will also get to visit various courts and tribunals like the Supreme Court, Delhi High Court, NCLT.
During the period of my internship, Sir was in the process of updating the first edition of his commentary on SEBI Act, 1992 (published by Taxmann) so I also got an opportunity to work on the same.
Along with Amit Sir, there is another practicing advocate Satyajit Sarna in the office, who handles similar kind of cases. Thus assured that one can never run out of work here.
Sir is very approachable and he will always review all the assignments given by him, so that you can identify your mistakes.
He will also appreciate your good work. He maintains the right amount of strictness in the office to keep you on your toes throughout the internship.
There is no dearth of work in the office and all the tasks assigned are qualitative and not merely clerical.
Since it is a small office there are no authority issues and one can learn without any hesitation.
Sir will always engage you in the matter in the complete sense, right from entrusting the files and documents with you to attending client meetings, research and the drafting work for the same.
There are a lot of good eateries around Jangpura, so one can always cheer up their mood by indulging in tasty food.
The office is very well connected so there are no travelling issues as well.
There were no bad things as such but the office is open on all Saturday’s.
I stay in Delhi, so accommodation was not an issue for me. But various pg’s and flats are available near the office in areas like Lajpat Nagar, Defence Colony, Bhogal etc.
Stipend for Internship:
Based on performance. It is quite a handsome stipend, if you work hard for it.
