Duration of internship and timings
30th May, 2016 – 30th June, 2016
First impression, first day formalities, infrastructure
The first impression that place gave me was positive in nature. The office is well equipped with all necessities and it is situated in a residential area.
The intern needs to put attendance while entering and leaving everyday. The work is very organised. If real interest is shown the guidance that they provide is impeccable.
Since it was an NGO the work was more practical rather than paper work.
Surveys, case studies, documentation, organising programmes are some examples to give you an insight. There is no burden caused by the work.
Work environment and people
Most friendly environment. The people were very welcoming and were ready to help with anything.
There was no need for me to hesitate to ask anything.
My fellow interns exhibit a lot of diversity and I also had the opportunity to get acquainted with foreign interns.
The environment and guidance is the best thing.
You can really learn a lot about the social and economical issues existing at the ground level.
It is a perfect place for every fresher from a law school to intern.
There were no bad things. The place was a residential area and the office is situated in an apartment.
No one will motivate you to work. You have to persistently show your interest to get the work you need.
I learnt about the hardships many poor people go through. Flood relief work and educating trans-women were one of the major issues I was working on.
The work provides you with satisfaction because you’ll be making a lot of lives better.
Moreover, you might also learn about how the economically backward people can be given legal assistance and what kind of assistance they really require.
I realized how easy it is to exploit them and when I think that I contributed in helping them tackle that exploitation I felt satisfied.
Stayed at home.
The timings were fixed as 9:30-5.
The timings were flexible enough. At times the time may also exceed due to extra work.
