The GNLU Centre for Corporate and Competition Law invites you to participate in a Refresher Course on the Companies Act, 2013. The present approach to company legislation in India is very atypical owing to the co-existence of two Acts i.e. the Companies Act, 1956 and the Companies Act, 2013.
Bearing in mind this unique situation, in order to appreciate company law and practice fully, it is a prerequisite to have a sound understanding of both these legislations.
The dynamic nature of this body of law is demonstrated further by the Companies (Amendment) Bill, 2014, which has been cleared by the Union Cabinet recently.
Aiming at a comprehensive analysis of both the legislations, the Companies Act, 1956 and the Companies Act, 2013 and their interaction, the Centre for Corporate and Competition Law at Gujarat National Law University is conducting the ‘Refresher Course on the Companies Act, 2013’ from 27 – 31 March, 2015.
The resource persons for the course comprise highly qualified company law experts including Dr. Umakanth Varottil, Assistant Professor, National University of Singapore and Mr. J.K. Jolly, Joint Director, ICLS Academy, Ministry of Corporate Affairs.
The course shall be conducted within the University premises itself.
