In the past few months, India has made significant strides in making itself a ‘Space Superpower’; these developments have not only ameliorated India’s Space Research thresholds but has also opened new horizons in the field.
The hold over space sector, which was restricted to the ISRO, has recently been liberated, thereby allowing a certain degree of manufacturing and supply of components by Private Players, which certainly indicates the formation of ‘Private Space Industry Ecosystem’ in the near future.
A cogent legal framework is the need of the hour to ensure smooth functioning of the sector and not only to protect both, the operators and government whenever liability arises, but also to deal with matters like technology transfer, environmental issues, defence issues etc.
DSNLU aims to provide a platform to law students to discuss and deliberate upon various aspects relating to Space Law during “Tenth Ortus” the 10th Foundation Day Celebrations of the University. Participants are required to prepare on the following sub-themes.
