Organization Structure

In PASS Associates there are Three senior partners – Ashokapathy, Saravanan & Anand. There are a lot of other dedicated advocates working under them in the firm.

Overall Experience

I had zero internship experience before joining this firm so I roped in my friend as co-intern. We were actually lucky because on first day itself we got to observe an arbitration hearing sitting along with the Counsel for a bank in the Arbitration centre (CNICA). This happened on every Friday evening.

Next two days we were given with some research work relating to Family law. From the Fourth day onwards we were taken to Madras High court, City Civil court, Family court, Small causes court to observe the proceedings and after that we were supposed to report to them when asked.

We also got to observe Mediation proceeding within Madras High court premises and NCLT proceedings.

Besides this, we were also taught how to draft and documentation.

Ashokapathy sir, inspite of his tight schedule, never hesitated to answer any question and was very much available to clarify our doubts. Both Ashokapathy sir and Saravanan sir were very much motivating.

The other Advocates working under them namely, Achuthanantham sir and Saalai Geethan sir appeared to us no less than a brother in the sense teaching us ‘what is what ‘ and ‘when to do what’ and sharing their work experiences with zero ego to provide us with an insight to legal profession. In short, the work environment was very friendly.

Timings

Office opens at 9:30am on weekdays, 10am on saturdays and closes at 8:30pm on all days. Sundays are holidays.

As I am pursuing CS simultaneously, I had to get back home early around 3-4pm to study for which they had granted us flexible time to that extent. On Fridays, it takes around 6:30 pm to leave due to Arbitration hearing in CNICA.

The more we attend, the more the new things we shall learn. Looking forward passionately to learn more from them in next summer internship.
