There were two junior advocates and one legal clerk along with ma’am.
I got my internship through ma’am’s friend as they were known to me. Otherwise a CV can be sent to ma’am for internship to email@example.com
I live in Ghaziabad, so I use to travel everyday from my place to the court. There are certain PG accommodations available near the high court area.
First Impression, First day formalities
On the very first day I stayed in the chamber and was given some case files to read as I had to get a trainee pass made for visiting courts to observe proceedings which took a day or two to be made.
I was also asked to prepare case notes of the cases of the next day. Everybody was cooperative and helped whenever required. The office was stacked with a lot of books which were easily accessible.
My works included reading case files, making case notes, preparing cases of the next day and attend all the court proceedings.
The cases mainly included parole cases, furlough cases, quashing of FIR cases.
At an average there were 6-7 cases everyday in the High court.
At the end of the internship I was also made to write opinion for SLP proposal by Government for different cases.
The junior advocates were very helpful and were keen to teach.
There were times when you had to ask for work as the assigned work was over early. The chamber was wifi equipped which enabled me to use the internet in my free time.
I acquired the practical knowledge of law by observing court proceedings regularly. Everybody in the chamber always taught something new which was beneficial for me.
None. I was overall a good internship, neither too much of workload nor less of workload.
What did you do to chill?
Khan Market and Connaught Place were near the court, could easily go there to hangout as sometimes I got free early from the internship.
It was an amazing experience to observe the court proceedings and also observe the litigation process in the court.
