8th – 9th April, 2017
The DIPP Chair on IPR, National Law University, Jodhpur, is organizing a conference on Issues in Copyright and Technology on 8th – 9th April, 2017.
The rapid evolution of new technologies has raised serious questions on the utility and application of copyright laws.
Many argue that copyright hinders development by limiting access to several important works and creations in the technological era.
Others maintain that with the growth of internet-aided infringement, copyright regimes need to become even stricter to protect rights-holders and the incentive to create.
The conference aims to generate discussion on the interface between copyright and technology.
Some of the topics that can be covered are
Access to Knowledge and Information
Technology Protection Measures and Digital Rights Management
Broadcasting Treaty, Issues related with Broadcasting
Issues in Software Copyright
Online Copyright Infringement
