IJOIL is a peer reviewed, open access, online journal in English for the enhancement of research in various discipline of Law. IJOIL brings together Judges, Advocates, Academician, Scholars and Students of Law (probably PhD students). The journal is an endeavor to promote high quality legal research.

It aims to provide a highly readable and valuable addition to the literature which will serve as an indispensable reference tool for years to come. The coverage of the journal includes all new theoretical and experimental findings in the fields of law. The journal also encourages the submission of critical review articles covering advances in recent research.

General Requirements

Articles, book reviews, case notes and short articles should be submitted in MS Word (*.doc or *.docx) or Open Office (*.odt). Please e-mail the soft copy to

The contribution shall contain the main article, short information about the author (author’s name an asterisked footnote should be added, giving the author’s present position), an abstract of not more than 200 words summarizing the main content/ argument of the article and up to 5 relevant key words. A table of content is not required.

The submission must accompanied by a certificate that the contribution submitted is a piece of original research work of author and has not been published or submitted for publication elsewhere.

Lengths of Contributions

Articles (5,000-15,000 words), Short Articles (5,000 words); and Essays (3,000 words).

The above limits are exclusive of footnotes. We are also open to discussing potential submissions that are substantially longer or shorter.

Presentation Style:

The main work and footnotes should be in Times New Roman (the main work 12 point size, 1.5 spaced. The footnotes 10 point size, single spaced).

Language: Contributions should be in the British English.

Dates: Date should be use in the following style: 2 January 2000.

Headings: Headings shall be numbered along with sequence 1. 1.1, 1.1.2

Quotation: Single and double quotation marks should be used for citations, both in the text and in the footnotes.

Quotations of more than four lines should be single spaced, indented from the left margin without quotation marks.

Short quotation (less than four lines) should be incorporated within double quotation marks.

Single quotation marks should be used for a quotation within the quoted text.

The omission of words in quotations and modification should be indicated by [brackets).

When a quotation includes italics to emphasis by authors, then it should be indicated in the footnote (e.g. emphasis added).

Selection Criteria

Manuscripts for publication in IJOIL are selected through rigorous peer reviews to ensure originality, timeliness, relevance, and readability. All submissions are assessed by at least one academic referee with expertise in the relevant field.
