About

Kazi Nazrul University was established under West Bengal Act XIX of 2012. Assent of the Governor was first published in the Kolkata gazette, extraordinary 16th August 2012.

The university has been named as a mark of respect to the rebel poet Kazi Nazrul of India who is also the national poet of Bangladesh (died in Dacca, August 29, 1976). The Kazi Nazrul University has been founded with a vision.

The vision is to function efficiently as a university encouraging and providing instruction, teaching, training and research in various branches of learning and courses of study for promoting advancement and dissemination of knowledge, and extending higher education to meet the growing needs of the society.

1. 3-Year LL.B.(Honours) Course (Academic session: 2017 – 2019) and

2. 5-Year B.A, LL.B. (Honours) Course (Academic session: 2017-2021).

Applications Forms are to be downloaded from the website of the Kazi Nazrul University (www.knu.ac.in) on and from 23.06.2017 to 07.07.2017.

The application form must accompany:

a) A Demand Draft of Rs. 300/- (Rupees Three Hundred only) in favour of ‘KAZI NAZRUL UNIVERSITY’ payable at ASANSOL,

b) Self attested photo copies of mark-sheets of the relevant examinations,

c) Self attested photo copy of identity proof,

d) Certificates of S.C./S.T./Differently Able (P.H.), if any, against admission under reserved category.

Eligibility:

For 5 years B.A,LL.B(H)

10+2 passed with 45% marks for General, 42% marks for OBC candidate and 40% marks for SC/ST candidate from recognized Board. As Per the latest rules and regulations of Bar Council of India Rules for legal studies.

For 3 Years LL.B(H)

10+2+3 passed with 45% marks for General,42% marks for OBC candidate and 40% marks for SC/ST candidate from recognized University. As Per the latest rules and regulations of Bar Council of India Rules for legal studies.

Age Limit: 20 Years for B.A,LL.B(H) as on 1st July 2017.

30 Years for LL.B(H) as on 1st July 2017.

Mode of Selection for Admission:

The selection for admission to the course shall be made strictly on the merit basis. There shall be no counselling for admission.

At the time of submission of the application form, all the candidates have to exercise their options with regard to the choice of place of studies mandatorily in the column printed in the application form.

Options regarding place of studies once exercised cannot be altered afterwards. The list of selected candidates for admission will be published on the basis of merit and their choice of place of studies.

Publication of the merit list:

The short merit list of the candidate will be published on 11.07.2017.

In case of the uniform score in the concerned Degree, the percentage of marks obtained by the candidate in Higher Secondary Examination will be considered and calculated for determining the higher position in the merit list.

And if the percentage of Higher Secondary marks appears to be the same, percentage of Secondary Examination will be considered for ranking.

Date of Admission: 12/07/2017 to 15/07/2017 at the concerned Institute i.e. i) Law College Durgapur; ii) Durgapur Institute of Legal Studies.

  1. I, MRITYUNJOY MUDIKORA, belong to schedule tribe (S.T)community. Age 34 years old. Graduate with 40%marks from distance mode.
    Am I eligible for the course of LLB 3 years.
