School of Law, University of Petroleum & Energy Studies is proud to host the 6th UPES National Client Counselling Competition, 2017.

This Client Counselling competition addresses fundamental skills necessary for all successful attorneys, namely the ability to interview, counsel, and support a client through their legal issue.

Competitors conduct an initial interview with a person playing the role of the client and then address both the client’s legal and non-legal issues.

Previous seasons of this competition were based on a wide range of Indian laws and statutes such as constitutional law, the contract law, Law of torts, consumer laws, criminal laws, Electronic Disputes and family laws which enunciated wide knowledge of the law.

This edition is based on the laws related to DISPUTES THEME.

It involves the following subjects: 

Law of Contracts, Corporate Law, Law of Torts, Constitution Law, Family Law, Intellectual Property Rights, Information Technology Law, Criminal law, Environmental Law and other codified and un-codified laws relevant to the theme.

The Organising Committee of UPES has always endeavored to achieve higher standards with respect to every aspect of the competition, ranging from the quality of the problems to that of the judges and to ensure impeccable hospitality and professionalism.

We cordially invite your institution to be a part of this experience and participate in the 6th UPES National Client Counselling Competition, 2017.



To provisionally register your University, you are required to send an e-mail showing your willingness to participate in the competition to after which we shall revert with the necessary information.


10th October, 2017: Release of Rules and schedule of the Competition.

16th October, 2017: Last date for Provisional Registration

17th October, 2017: Last date for Payment of Registration

25th October, 2017: Last Date for Clarifications and Queries

3rd November, 2017: Authorisation of Participants

4th – 5th November, 2017: Dates of the competition
