Application Procedure at CRY
CRY, Child Rights and You releases its internship opportunity mainly twice a year, summer and winter internships.
However, call for volunteering at CRY is mostly available. Applicants need to send their CV plus CRY’s Internship Application form at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Selection is done on the basis of the Internship form and a short interview on a phone call or personal meeting.
CRY’s office can be easily located in Saket near its the metro station. The office is well-furnished and facilitated. My first meeting was with Ms.Veronica Xavier. She is the head of the branch. She asked me basic questions and did the briefing of the projects and tasks to be performed. Proper orientation is also conducted if the number of interns is more.
I was asked to choose between field work and office work. I chose field work. My task was to teach illiterate poor children aged between 5 to 12 years. I was assisted by a co-intern and we used to teach elementary English, Maths, Hindi to kids for around 2 hours. It is a stringent task to control kids however it gave me a unique experience.
Apart from this, I was given another projects like promoting the CRY’s event Cyclothon-Ride for Rights & Bake for CRY. My second major project was to manage National Badminton Kids Championship organised by PNBMetlife in which CRY was the CSR Partner. It included registering kids and explaining their parents the scholarship programme.
Later, I was given office work of compiling the figures. The staff is very friendly and cooperating. All in all it was fun to work with CRY. The projects are very interesting and interns from all the fields are eligible.
After completion of the internship, I had to give a report of all the experiences and projects I worked for and emphasize my perspective for child rights.
