You can directly send in your internship application to Vikram Sir’s email ID with the request of your preferred period of internship. Email ID: vikram@cvlawchambers.com

I had interned with Vikram Sir from 10th August to 31st August, 2018 (3 weeks). It is advised to intern here for a minimum period of 1 month to avail the complete learning experience.

First Day

I was asked to report at 7:30 a.m. to the office on the first day. I reached the Chambers and was overwhelmed to see the huge book shelf consisting of various law books including the commentaries and bare acts.

The office space is significant and extends to two adjacent flats, essentially covering the whole floor. There are around 12 – 15 associates.

I was seated for a while, and then an associate asked me to accompany him to the High Court. In the court, I had attended a court proceeding in which Vikram Sir argued on a case. I was expected to make notes on the same. After coming back tot he office, Vikram Sir had an interaction with me to know abut my specific interests.

Thereafter, I was allotted a research work on Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code. After I had prepared the note, he reviewed it and asked me to make the necessary changes. His guidance indeed resulted in a comprehensive note.

Internship Experience

It was a wholesome litigation experience at Vikram Sir’s Chambers. I had an opportunity to learn and gain from the internship to a great extent:

  1. Extensive research work on a daily basis;
  2. Leaning about the practical aspects of the law which we study in the University;
  3. Drafting opinions, writ, and research notes;
  4. One on one sessions with Vikram Sir at the end of the day;
  5. Friendly and approachable Associates;
  6. Access to Legal Databases such as Manupatra and SCC Online;
  7. Court Visits including the visit to the Hyderabad High Court and National Company Law Tribunal;
Pros

A great place to intern if one is interested to go for litigation in the near future. It was an enriching experience. All my doubts used to get solved even the silly ones for that matter and I used to come home with a clear head.

The office motivates you to give your best at every instance. Interns are considered as a part of the office team and it thereby serves as an engaging atmosphere.

Moreover, one can find a number of food joints right outside the office or you can order it online. However, one should ideally get his/her own lunch box.

Cons

Nothing really. However, don’t expect a holiday during your internship period. I was asked to attend the office on Independence day, Rakshabandhan and also Bakri Eid. But, you will definitely not regret it because you get ample amount of quality work to be engaged in.

Stipend

The stipend will depend on the intern’s performance. Contribute to the office, and you will be rewarded. Vikram Sir needs interns who are genuinely serious in their approach to work.

Accommodation

I am from Hyderabad, so accommodation was not a concern. However, there are numerous PGs and hotels in and around the office area at a reasonable rent. Moreover, the city’s transport system including the bus service and the metro is well connected, and affordable.

Conclusion

One should apply for this internship if one is looking for a serious internship. There is no dearth of work for hardworking interns. The quote which is famous in the office is

“Differentiate between activity and productivity.”
